Pharrell Lands New International Ad Campaign!!

Producer Pharrell Williams will be featured in the 2011 advertising campaign for Palladium boots.

Pharrell will be featured in the international campaign “Tokyo Rising,” that follows the producer as he interviews locals and discovers the resiliency of the country, after a massive earthquake and tsunami in March.

In addition to online and print ads, Pharrell Williams will be featured in a documentary that follows him around the city.

"I find great inspiration in Tokyo from the people," Pharrell Williams said. "To me, the way that the Japanese people regard life and culture is completely unmatched. Tokyo is my second home and I jumped at the chance to come back and reconnect with friends during the exploration."

Palladium is a well-known boot brand designed for urban exploration, that started in 1947, as a maker of tires for military aircraft's.

"Palladium's core message is about urban exploring and putting your boots on to find out what's beyond the tourist guidebook," said Barney Waters, vice president of marketing for Palladium. "Tokyo is one of the great cities of the world and we felt there was a whole layer of the city's story that wasn't being told in the aftermath of the natural disaster of 3/11. We wanted to go back and see for ourselves how the young creative class was dealing with the aftermath, and what their vision was for the vibrant future of Tokyo."

Boots in the Palladium collection retail for $80-$120.

The campaign launched yesterday and will run until December 31st in a variety of print and online publications.
